Novak Djokovic’s father Srdjan is in hospital reportedly after suffering a fall with the former not yet travelling to Rome and instead has rushed to be by his side.
According to Sportal, the father of the legendary World No.1 was feeding birds when he fell from his chair and hit the ground, injuring his arm. Also he has supposedly suffered a fracture in his upper arm.
Both Novak and his brother Marko rushed to be by their fathers side with it not confirmed as of yet how long he will be in hospital according to the same source.
Rome Open begins a week today and so Djokovic thankfully decided against playing in Madrid and instead will only play Rome in his Roland Garros preparation.
He also played the Monte-Carlo Masters but he suffered a shock defeat to Casper Ruud. The form of Djokovic has been called into question but Djokovic has played very minimal tennis this year so doesn’t have much of a gauge aside from late tournament defeats.
