At the end of May 2020, the LTA announced that ‘tennis will return to TV screens with Battle of the Brits’. The highest-ranked British players will compete on courts of the LTA’s National Tennis Center in Roehampton from 23rd – 28th June.

The event doesn’t want to aim to just entertain the fans with a game of tennis as it also wants to raise money for the NHS Charities Together. The fans will be able to watch the tournament live as there will be no fans in the stands.

When launching the tournament, Jamie Murray said: “The last few months have been incredibly challenging times for everyone, and we see this event as our way of giving back. A lot of work has gone in to make sure this could happen and we are very excited to be able to bring an action-packed week of tennis while raising valuable funds for NHS heroes to say thank you for the amazing work they have done.”
