Christopher Eubanks proved to be a great replacement as he leveled the score of the All-American Team Cup for Team Stars after victory over Tennys Sandgren.
After the captain of Team Stars, Frances Tiafoe tested positive for COVID-19, he needed to pull out of the All-American Team Cup. He was replaced by Christopher Eubanks who joined Taylor Fritz, Reilly Opelka, and Tommy Paul in Team Stars.
The 24-years-old American showed that he knows what is his job in the match against Tennys Sandgren. His opponent triumphed against Tommy Paul yesterday, but today Eubanks made his job more difficult.
In the first set of the match, Eubanks converted 2 out of 4 break points he had. On the other hand, he didn’t allow his opponent to convert any of the 4 breakpoints he had and so he triumphed 6-3 in the first set.
In the second set, fans in Atlanta didn’t see any break despite the fact that Eubanks had 6 breakpoints in the set. However, he didn’t let the set slip out of his hand as he took it in the tie-break to win the match 6-3, 7-6(5).
