Milos Raonic headlines a 4-match day 3 at the New York Open as the schedule of play will start at 18:00 CET
Day 2 at the New York Open was a brilliant day of tennis that featured fascinating matches that saw the former Champion Kevin Anderson ousted early on. Today should be good as well because Raonic will play for the 1st time since his brilliant run in Australia.
The day kicks off with a match between veteran Paolo Lorenzi who is set to play against Miomir Kecmanovic. The Serbian youngster has yet to breakthrough fully and this tournament could be the place he does it. His opponent is a longtime veteran who still plays a pretty good tennis event at age 38.
The New York crowd will then have the chance to see Steve Johnson who is set to play against Seppi. Seppi who is now 35 years old is still a tough opponent to beat since his serve is still pretty good. Johnson, a good server as well, will need some good tennis to advance past the Italian.
The night session will be opened by Milos Raonic who is set to play against Kwon. The South Korean is playing solid tennis so far this season and is climbing on the rankings. Raonic who returned to form in Australia will look to build upon that as he believes he can become even better than before.
American Marcos Giron will close out the day with a match against Humbert. The Frenchman is enjoying a breakout season so far with a title win in Auckland. Can he add another one in New York? We will see but first, he will have to go through Giron.
