This young tournament is also referred to as Tennis in the Land Cleveland or the Cleveland Championships. It was organized a first time in 2021. 

Yearly, some of the best players from the WTA circuit gather in downtown Cleveland. This year's 2023 edition will feature for instance American tennis star Sloane Stephens with an upwards of 20,000 fans expected over the week.

The custom tennis-specific temporary Topnotch Stadium is named after the agency that owns and operates the tournament. All matches are played on hard court.

This Cleveland-based tournament is considered for WTA competitors as a run-up to the US Open in New York.
