Ashleigh Barty has the very high chance of ending the year as the WTA's year end No.1 and as a result she would be the first Australian to do so.

Despite that though, Barty isn't going to be doing more to chase points and said that her schedule is planned well advance; so as a result she has a if it happens, it happens mentality about the whole situation.
The Roland Garros champion went on to say that it isn't going to change how she plans; as well as how she prepares for next year either.
"I think it's a target without being a target," Barty said. "We've put ourselves in a position where it's a possibility.
"I plan my schedule, the last six months of this year, well in advance. I think I'm not going to change it to try and chase it. I'm going to try to do the best that I can in these next couple of events.
"If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. It's not going to change the way I rest or I recover or train and prepare for next year."
