Stefanos Tsitsipas and Patrick Mouratoglou launched a new project called “Beyond 100” to help lower-ranked players with financial struggles.

Mouratoglou was one of the first people to speak about the financial difficulties of lower-ranked tennis players. Now, he joined with Stefanos Tsitsipas to create a new project called “Beyond 100”. The project aims to raise funds in order to help players. Fans can bid in auctions on many items and donate money this way. They can obtain some Stefanos’ match gear, or coaching with Mouratoglou. Some of the items in the auction include also tickets for ATP Finals or ATP Cup.

“Let’s support the tennis tours (men’s and women’s) by raising funds for our sport together. The world of tennis is built on many levels and what most people don’t see are the players fighting week in, week out for their survival on the tour so that they can make it onto the big stage. These are the players that are struggling the most in these strange times and are facing the reality of having to quit their dreams. So let’s help them,” Tsitsipas wrote.

“Fans, please visit our page and bid on some unique experiences or items that money can’t buy. Fellow players, I challenge you to make a donation or join me by adding items to this online auction which you feel valuable in supporting the players “Beyond 100”. Together we can make a difference,” wrote Tsitsipas.

“As the youngest player in the top 10, I feel responsible to help the future of tennis. I understand how critical it is for the sustainability of both ATP and WTA players ranked beyond the top 100 and how difficult it is to make a living from professional tennis, especially with no tennis events going on for an undefined period of time. Through the creation of “Beyond 100 Support”, I hope to start a movement that my fellow players will follow suit,” said Tsitsipas.

“The situation of players ranked beyond the top 100 is becoming more and more worrying as they might not be able to pursue their careers — their passions — if the current health crisis were to last for too long. “Beyond 100 Support” emerged as a much-needed initiative to improve the conditions of those players in the immediate term, and gives us more time to build a solution for the long term,” said Mouratoglou.
