Tennis in the Land in Cleveland returns in 2022 with the 2nd edition of the event running from August 21st till August 27th.
The event started last year as one inserted before the start of the US Open and it proved a huge success. That's why it returns this year with a pretty solid entry list considering how close it is to the US Open. Most players choose to skip events like these to prepare for the grand slam better but Cleveland will host a grand slam champion in Barbora Krejickova.
The Czech player needs matches and she will certainly get one hell of a match against Potapova in round one. The 2nd seed is Martina Trevisan and she faces Mayar Sherif in round two. Sofia Kenin got a wild care here as she tries to rebuild her career that was completely derailed by injuries. She starts off against a qualifier.
The 3rd seed is Ekaterina Alexandrova and she will begin agaisnt native Lauren Davis which should be an interesting one. Elise Mertens is the fourth seed and she will face Sorana Cirstea in round one. Other interesting matchups include Samsonova - Garcia, Linette - Putintseva, Osorio - Sorribes Tormo.
