Joao Sousa, Pedro Sousa and Rui Machado had to endure a lot of trouble in order to find a way to get to Tokyo for the
Olympic Games.
Portuguese tennis is not enjoying its best days with many players struggling to maintain their form and ranking in 2021. The tennis Olympic team consisting of Joao Sousa, Pedro Sousa and Rui Machado were having a lot of trouble finding a way to get to Tokyo.
Their initial flight from Lisbon got cancelled which forced the trio to find other solutions. The solution they found included a flight from Faro, Portugal to Paris in order to catch a flight to Tokyo. However, it did not end there as they needed to get to Faro in time and the only way was via bus.
Travelling by bus in 2021 is not something professional tennis players are accustomed to but the trio went to great lengths in order to reach Tokyo to represent Portugal at the Olympic Games. Hopefully, their troubles will be rewarded and they will show some good tennis.
