Leander Paes announces retirement after 2020 Season

Former doubles world number one and 8-time Grand Slam champion Leander Paes announced on Twitter that 2020 will be his final season.

The 46-years-old player from India announced that after almost 30 years of being pro, he will retire from professional tennis. During his career, Paes has won 767 matches and lost 455.
With multiple players in doubles, Paes lifted 54 trophies above his head. 8 of those being at the Grand Slam. First, at the 1999 French Open with Mahesh Bhupathi and the last at the 2013 US Open with Radek Stepanek. Now, on his Twitter account, he announced that 2020 will be his farewell season.
"I am looking forward to the 2020 tennis calendar where I will be playing a few select tournaments, traveling with my team and celebrating with all my friends and fans around the world. It is all of you who have inspired me to become me and I want to take this year to say 'Thank you' to you. 2020 is going to be an emotional one and I look forward to seeing all of you out there roaring with me."
