The Western & Southern Open was one of the few Masters events held in 2020 and in 2021 it is returning with full capacity.
The Western & Southern Open was one of the few Masters events that were held in 2020 despite the pandemic. The event was held in New York on the US Open courts ahead of the US Open so that player would not need to break quarantine rules. In 2021 it will be held in Cincinnati as it always was.
That is not the only change from the 2020 edition as the event is going to be held at full capacity. The vaccination in the United States is in full swing and organizers decided to allow full capacity at the event. The announcement was made on the official Twitter page of the event with ticket sales starting on June 3rd.
The event will start on August 14th and will run till August 22nd as part of the North American hard-court swing ahead of the US Open.
