Following his first round win at the 2024 Australian Open, World No.1 Novak Djokovic has coyly stated he would give fans a behind-the-scenes look at his thoughts during matches when he writes his autobiography.
The Serbian tennis star defeated Croatian Dino Prižmić in his opening round match, overcoming a shaky second set to secure a 6-2 6-7(5) 6-3 6-4 victory. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has looked unstoppable over the past year, and is a hands-down favorite to lift his 11th Australian Open title at the conclusion of the event.
Although Djokovic displayed his typical tenacity during the match, there were also a few moments where he was seen laughing to himself in-between points. When asked for an explanation after the match, the top seed played it coy.
"An autobiography will come," said the 36-year old. "However, before the autobiography, there will be another book that I have already started writing independently, but I will probably look for help with all that. It will be a continuation of the book 'Serve for Victory', it will be about nutrition, recovery, training, so more technical in nature.
"And the autobiography will come one day, most likely when I finish my career. It will be done, I don't want to rush it because there is so much to say. A lot will be told, when I am no longer seeing these people - ha ha, just kidding of course!”
