Young tennis star Carlos Alcaraz will be a part of the Spain team for the upcoming Davis Cup.
The matches will take place between September 12 to 17 in four different cities where Spain will take on Serbia, the Czech Republic and South Korea.
Alcaraz has been named in the team alongside Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Roberto Bautista Agut and Marcel Granollers.
Spanish fans will be hoping that the inclusion of the 20-year-old on their side will help them get the better of all other oppositions in the competition.
Alcaraz has now become the talk of the town after securing his maiden Wimbledon 2023 triumph with a five-set thrilling win against Serbia’s Novak Djokovic with a score of 1–6, 7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
The El Palmar-born will be defending his crown in the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year which will begin in less than 20 days’ time in New York.
Alcaraz won the US Open last year after beating Norway’s Casper Ruud with a score of 6–4, 2–6, 7–6(7–1), 6–3.
