"Always inspired by her" says Cameron Norrie on Emma Raducanu

It's been a good year for British tennis with Emma Raducanu winning the US Open and Cameron Norrie winning the Indian Wells Masters.

Both of those tennis players have had a breakout year in 2021 with both entering the top 30 for the first time in their careers. For Raducanu, the achievement is even more impressive as the Brit is essentially playing her first season on the tour while Norrie has a few in already. Either way, Norrie was asked about Raducanu at the BNP Paribas Open and he spoke highly of his fellow Brit.

He said:

"That was utterly incredible what she did in New York. To come through qualifying and just go out and whack every opponent. She won in straight sets and to do that at such a young age and with that kind of confidence, it was extremely impressive."

Norrie is obviously not the only one who praised Raducanu as the Brit received widespread praise from many former and current tennis players. After all, she did something that has never been done before and regardless of the circumstances that deserves praise.

Norrie further said:

"It's definitely going to give girls with a similar ranking a lot of confidence and a lot of belief. I was inspired by her and it's huge for British tennis. It's for sure going to put a lot of racquets in hands here back home in the UK."
