Ana Ivanovic has chosen her favourites from the men's main draw to win the French Open title. The former world No. 1 knows what it takes to triumph at Roland Garros, having claimed victory 16 years ago in the 2008 final against Dinara Safina. The Serbian mentioned that there will be several players with strong chances to contend for the title.
One of the major uncertainties of the tournament will be the level Novak Djokovic can display, given his current struggles and his participation in the ATP 250 Geneva Open to gain some rhythm. Nevertheless, Ivanovic believes that the 24-time Grand Slam champion will be the main contender for the title.

Djokovic the top contender

The clay swing has arguably been one of the most unpredictable in the last 20 years, with no clear dominant player. Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, and Alexander Zverev won the three Masters 1000 titles that took place (Monte-Carlo Masters, Madrid Open, and Rome Open). Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz did not perform as expected due to injuries in recent weeks.
“There have been a lot of new players in the last few weeks reaching far in the tournaments and beating some top players,” Ivanovic said about the state of men’s tennis.,” Ivanvic said. “So we are going to see many new faces on the men’s side. Of course Novak is still the strongest contestant for the title, but also Alcaraz and Sinner.”
“Novak had a little bit tougher clay court season so far than usual, but I think he is for sure peaking his full form for the French Open,” she added. “Out of the other 3, I would pick Zverev as the highest chance to win the French Open.” She replied.
