With five ATP titles and 41 victories, Andrey Rublev was among the best players in 2020. Andrey has secured the year-end top-10 honor for the first time, hoping for more in 2021.
The young Russian made the best start of the season, winning ATP 250 titles in Doha and Adelaide and bounced back following the season restart. The Russian was the quarter-finalist at the US Open and Roland Garros, winning three ATP 500 titles in Hamburg, St. Petersburg and Vienna to secure the ATP Finals berth. Andrey wants to establish himself in the top-10 and spend many years in that group, hoping for a deep run at Majors in 2021.
"Winning the ATP awards make Fernando Vicente and me proud. I played many tournaments in 2020 and took only a couple of weeks off. In 2021, I will reduce my schedule, especially if there are no changes in the calendar. I still feel like a guest in the top-10; I have to find the consistency to stay there for a couple of years, like Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev.
In 2021, I have to improve my Major results and pass the quarter-final stage for the first time. I will spend Christmas in Russia and fly to Melbourne, preparing for the ATP Cup in the first week of February ahead of the Australian Open," Andrey Rublev said.
