Andy Murray is keeping his level in Aix high earning another solid win at the challenger event ahead of what will be his final time playing at Roland Garros.
Murray opted to play on clay this year as he will take part at Roland Garros once more. It comes as the British player is unsure if he'll ever have the chance to play at the event again and he's been playing okay. Taking part in the challenger event in Aix, Murray was able to take down talented youngster Luca van Ascche in two sets 6-2 7-6(6).
The first set was a rather comfortable ride for Murray as he was able to break his opponent twice. Murray played aggressively losing only two points after his first serve and played the key rallies better. The players traded breaks at the start of the second set but that was the only breaks they traded.
Murray had two match points later but didn't use them and he was forced to finish things off in a tiebreak. It was a closely contested one with Murray eventually winning 8-6 though he could have lost. He didn't allow the match to go to three sets like things unfolded yesterday.
