Auckland native Norrie to face Gasquet in the ASB Classic final

Auckland native Cameron Norrie will contest his second career final at the ASC Classic and he's going to play Richard Gasquet who advanced via a walkover.

Norrie played in the Auckland final in the past but failed to win it and he'll now be given another chance. Norrie was raised in the city when his family moved from South Africa and his parents still live there. He spent the COVID-19 lockdown there are as well and it's a very important event for him.

To play in the final the British player had to battle it out against Jenson Brooksby and he proved quite comfortable in that match. It's been a very good preseason for him so far as he's earned some impressive wins already, The straight-sets victory earned him a chance to take on veteran Richard Gasquet in the final.

Gasquet played some solid tennis all week long but nobody really expect him to make it to the final. He was supposed to play countryman Constant Lestienne in the semi-final but he withdrew sending Gasquet to the final. The final will be played tomorrow and it will be their first meeting.
