Felix Auger-Aliassime
Makes Appearance at Dior Fashion Event in Paris
Canadian
tennis player Felix Auger-Aliassime, who became an ambassador for the French
fashion company two months ago, made an appearance at the Dior Homme
Spring/Summer 2024 event in Paris. He joined fellow young star Emma Raducanu,
who signed a contract with Dior shortly after her victory at the 2021 US Open.
The world
No. 12 was invited to the Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2024 showcase by Kim Jones,
the creative director of Dior Men's fashion. Auger-Aliassime walked the runway
at the Dior Men's Summer 2024 fashion show, dressed in an elegant suit. He also
shared photos of the event on his social media.
Despite his
involvement in the fashion world, Auger-Aliassime has had a challenging year on
the tennis court. Injuries have prevented him from reaching the level of
success that saw him rise to world No. 6 in 2022.
His last
consecutive wins came at the 2023 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, where he
reached the quarterfinals before losing to Carlos Alcaraz over three months
ago. In the race to qualify for the ATP Finals, he is currently ranked outside
the top 30.
Having not
played since the French Open, where he was defeated in the first round by Fabio
Fognini (4-6, 4-6, 3-6), Auger-Aliassime will enter Wimbledon without any grass
court preparation matches. Although he was initially entered to play at the
Halle Open, Canadian withdrew before his debut match against Dominic Thiem due
to a knee injury.
As the 11th
seed at Wimbledon, Auger-Aliassime will have the advantage of avoiding any
player ranked within the top 16 at least in the early rounds of the tournament.
