Becker set for release from prison, but with deportation to Germany to follow

Boris Becker is set to be released from prison after being approved for a fast-track release scheme but he'll be deporter to Germany.

Becker was sentenced in April of this year when he was proclaimed guilty of violating insolvency regulations. However, he won't hit the one-year mark in prison as he's getting ready to be reunited with his family by Christmas.

The Sun reports:

"The scheme allows 'any foreign national serving a fixed sentence who is liable for removal from the UK to be removed from prison and deported up to 12 months before the earliest release point of their sentence."

The opportunity will allow Becker to be released from prison and deported back to Germany in time to spend Christmas with his family. A spokesperson for the German said:

"We are pleased for Boris that he may qualify for an early release and be able to travel to Germany, albeit England has been his home for many, many years. I’m sure it will mean a lot to him and his family to be reunited for Christmas."
