Boris Becker marries for the third time in a spectacular weekend in Italy

Six-time Grand Slam champion Boris Becker celebrated his third wedding with fiancée Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro, a political risk manager from the African island of São Tomé and Príncipe. The couple enjoyed a lavish weekend at a luxury resort in Portofino, Italy, with around 150 guests.
Becker, 56, is 23 years older than his wife Lilian, who stood by him during his imprisonment in the United Kingdom. The German tennis legend served two and a half years in prison after being found guilty of hiding 2.5 million euros in a high-profile bankruptcy fraud case.
The wedding took place in a location south of Genoa, a popular spot for the rich and famous. Notably, Rod Stewart married Penny Lancaster in the same place in 2007. Among the notable guests at Becker's wedding were international model Naomi Tara Lievens, German actor and model Boris Kodjoe, and former footballer Ruud Gullit.

According to German newspaper Bild, Monteiro lives in London and holds three degrees, including a master's from the School of Oriental and African Studies. The political risk analyst speaks five languages, including German, and is the daughter of Victor Monteiro, a former defense minister in São Tomé and Príncipe.
As reported by The Sun, a source revealed: "Boris is incredibly grateful to Lilian for staying with him through 'the hardest time' of his life. He said, 'she saved me, and I will never forget her for that. She is the woman of my new life!'"

- No offence, Mr. Lloyd, but where have you been the past two years?? How long have you been a tennis fan? This 'article' may be informative for newbies or fair-weather tennis observers but the majority of fans know the root of the multiple issues within WTA. The #1 issue being the subject of health & well-being which has been (or has attempted to be) addressed with the WTA Elitist council members last season. WTA was extremely dismissive of players' concerns and opposed to such a meeting. Eventually giving-in due to publicity and allowed selective players only -- no rep's, no medical personnel, and no team members. The meeting was a farce as WTA soon after that released an even more hectic schedule... with mandatory tourneys! Guess they weren't taking notes?? BTW: There is a lot missing from this piece concerning "withdrawals". No writer has yet taken the jump to get behind the scenes and dig at the problems -- obvious organizational problems. IMO, the top two issues are WTA's lack of proper attention to health & well-being of its Money-Makers; and Financial Greed. Tip to Mr. Lloyd: there is no "snubbing" when these players withdraw. These women have to take such measures as withdrawing from a tourney, and occasional time-off from the circuit, to protect themselves -- because WTA refuses to take any measures at all (although not allowing matches until sunrise is a start).
