During his rise to superstardom,
Carlos Alcaraz has competed at stadiums around the globe. Therefore it comes as no surprise that the Spaniard has been invited to compete in an exhibition match at Madison Square Garden, the most famous arena in the world.
Alcaraz will be facing rising American star
Ben Shelton in an exhibition match at Madison Square Garden on December 4, 2024. The duo have met once on the ATP Tour, with Alcaraz prevailing in straight sets at the 2023 Canadian Open.
Spaniard looking to cap spectacular season with great performances
The former World No.1 began the year with a title run at Indian Wells, before winning the French Open and Wimbledon Championships. Subsequently, he would fall to Novak Djokovic in the Paris Olympic Games final before posting some subpar results at the Cincinnati Masters and US Open, where he lost in the second round.
With only a few weeks left until the end of the 2024 season, Alcaraz will look to bounce back in a big way. The 21-year old is currently competing at the 2024
Davis Cup this week, before he heads to Berlin to represent Team Europe at the Laver Cup. He will eventually face Shelton at Madison Square Garden in December, where home favorites
Jessica Pegula and
Emma Navarro are also set to clash in another exhibition match.
