Casper Ruud wins 2023 Estoril Open over Kecmanovic

Casper Ruud played in Estoril for the first time in his career and he's leaving with the trophy having beaten Kecmanovic in the final 6-2 7-6(3).

It was a very good week for Ruud in Estoril as the Norwegian got back to winning ways after a few rough months on the Tour. It's exactly what he needed after all those struggles and the final was proof of that. Building up that confidence all week long worked out well for him in the final as he confidently took down Kecmanovic.

The first set wasn't really close as Ruud established control early taking it 6-2. The second set offered more excitement as both players had chances but neither was able to use them. Kecmanovic had some early chances and then Ruud had some and then they both had but we saw no break.

Ultimately it was a tiebreak finish with it being 3-3 after the first six points. After that, it was Ruud who dominated taking the next four points to close it out. It's a 10th career title for the Norwegian as he continues to build the legacy of Norway's best tennis player of all time.
