Jannik Sinner contested the his 2nd ever Miami Open final but he was beaten once more as Daniil Medvedev proved better 7-5 6-3.
The Russian has now beaten Sinner in all six matches they played and it's quite clear that there is a matchup problem for Sinner here. It's not hard to understand what the problem is as Sinner has trouble hitting through Medvedev who effectively functions as a wall. Medvedev already beat Sinner earlier this year in a final but Sinner was able to win a set in Rotterdam.
This time around things didn't go as well as Medvedev got the first set 7-5. Sinner had huge problems with the serve in the first set and it really cost him. Medvedev won more than 50 % of rallies after his 2nd serve and that simply gave him too many chances and eventually he used them a couple of times.
He broke Sinner twice in the first set and some more in the second where the score was 6-3. Both players were pretty solid in the winner department having an equal total (27) with an equal amount of mistakes (14) but Medvedev picked his spots far better than Sinner and he served better. That proved key.
