Only the 5⃣th British woman to break into the @WTA top 2⃣0⃣ #BackTheBrits 🇬🇧
It's a huge milestone for the teenager who was firmly ranked outside the top 100 (338) ahead of her grand slam debut at Wimbledon during the summer. Since then Raducanu was able to jump all the way into the top 20 now being currently ranked 20th. That ranking is the best of her career and by achieving it she became only the 5th British woman to ever crack the top 20.
The other names on that list are Virginia Wade, Sue Barker, Jo Durie, and Johanna Konta, with all of those players going on to reach the top five or better. Raducanu will be back in action this week in Linz where she will face competition from the likes of Simona Halep. The amazing milestones come after Raducanu won her maiden grand slam trophy with an impressive run at the US Open.
If she performs well this week in Linz she might even climb a few more spots before finally having the chance to play a full season next year. How far can the Brit go remains to be seen but her future is very bright, that much is certain.
