"Federer has transcended his sport" says Toni Nadal

Toni Nadal got to see Roger Federer play up close many times with the Spaniard battling the Swiss as part of Rafael Nadal's coaching them.

Some of those matches were truly spectacular and Nadal knows very well how much Federer means to the sport of tennis. Some would say that Federer saved or revolutionized tennis in a way and not many would find cause to argue against it.

In a recent interview to La Vanguardia, Nadal expressed his belief that Federer transcended his sport:

"Federer has managed to transcend his sport by squeezing maximum efficiency with superb elegance."

It's why many would consier the Swiss ace the greatest of all time. Richard Gasquet once famously said that nobody makes tense look so beautiful as Roger Federer whcih is why for him he is the goat. In a way Nadal is right, Federer has transcended the sport but it came at a perfect time that started the best era the sport has ever seen.
