Former French pro Lionel Roux on Nadal's key to navigating 2023 season: "If he wants to do a full season, I think he should skip the American tour"

Former tennis player Lionel Roux feels like Nadal should skip the American tour if he hopes to keep himself in the top 10 for the entire year.

Nadal clearly can't play a full season anymore as injuries in the past year showed that he breaks down when the load gets too much. That is something former player Roux also noticed as he thinks that the key to navigating the 2023 year will be skipping over the American tour. It's unclear whether Nadal would do such a thing but it's not entirely impossible.

Roux said:

"It will be interesting to see if Nadal will stay in the top 10, after I know that what I say is very odd. If he wants to do a full season, I think he should skip the American tour."

For now he's in Australia albeit not looking very good. The Australian Open will be a big test for him.
