Taylor Fritz firmly believes that Novak Djokovic should be permitted entry to play the Indian Wells and Miami Open event despite the country extending its ban on non-vaccinated persons.
As an unvaccinated individual, Djokovic can't enter the US legally. While the rule was expected to be abolished in 2023 a recent surge in cases made the government extend it for a few more months meaning that Djokovic will be missing the Indian Wells and Miami Open events again. The Serbian won't get vaccinated and it doesn't seem likely that the US will change its rules for now.
Fritz, an American, thinks that Djokovic should be exempted of it. He didn't even know that Djokovic was still banned:
"He's not playing?. I didn't know that. There is my live reaction to that."

He then added:
"Yeah, I don't know. I think obviously from like a player standpoint wanting to defend my title, it makes the draw easier that Novak is not in the draw, but I don't know, I feel like we are at a certain point where he should probably just be allowed into the country. But I don't make the rules, you know."
