David Goffin and Alexander Bublik reached the Antalya Open semifinals with victories over Italians Travaglia and Berrettini.
David Goffin continued his good run in the Turkish capital where he defeated Stefano Travaglia 6-3 6-2 in only 64 minutes. It was a strong display from the Belgian who advanced to the semifinal after a match where his victory was never in doubt. From the start, he looked sharper than his opponent jumping on every opportunity the Italian presented him. He served very well and only allowed one break point which he lost. He broke Travaglia four times and that was more than enough for him to move on.
Another Italian Berrettini also did not have a good day in Antalya today. His opponent was the ever tricky Bublik and today Alexander showed himself in his best light. The first set opened with Matteo taking an early break which he maintained for the majority of the set. When he needed to clinch it he failed to do so and Bublik started playing much better. In the end, he bested Matteo in the tiebreak taking it 8-6. From there it was only downhill for Matteo who allowed Bublik and early break which the Kazakhstani player turned to a 6-4 2nd set victory.
