As a former coach of Djokovic, Boris Becker knows him well and he was a bit worried after watching him win his second-round match at the Australian Open.
It was a win for Djokovic and another impressive one but Becker was worried about the injury that seemed to have bothered him more in this match than in the previous one. It's not good if the injury becomes worse with more play as he will need to play a few more matches if he wants to win the Australian Open.
Speaking for Eurosport, Becker said:
"I followed him already in Adelaide and the practice week and he always seemed to have problems with his thigh, left side. As a right handed player you need it on every serve. He struggled with it in the first round. He struggled with ti more tonight after losing the second set. I was really worried."
Becker added that he needs to have a quicker recovery if he hopes to win the event:
"He took a medical timeout, put some new tape on it and when he came back he just looked like he was moving a bit better. Having said that I think physically he's not a 100 %. He has a day off, he's had injuries before and he knows how to deal with them but he needs to have a quicker recovery in order to have a chance to win not only his next match but also the tournament.
