Holger Rune continued his bad stretch of results with another poor performance losing out to Marc Huesler in Bastad 3-6 4-6.
Ever since Holger Rune made a breakthrough at Roland Garros, he struggled. He went 0-3 on the grass and is currently 0-4 with another loss. This one came on his preferred surface of clay and it was against Huesler who is a very tricky player. The Swiss is a great server and today was a day when he had his serve with him. Rune struggled in dealing with it especially early on in the match.
Huesler jumped out to an early 5-0 lead against Rune who seemed somewhere else. The Danish player simply did not have the consistency in his game and he complained was too much early on. He was simply outplayed by his opponent and it's particularly bad for Rune because Huesler hit his first serve less than 50 % of the time.
The Swiss player served a bit better in the 2nd set but it was still below his best. Yet, Rune struggled with his serving. He did play much better overall with better solutions in rallies creating numerous break points. Each time he had one, he completely botched it. Huesler saved all three break points to win this one and move on at the event.
