Holger Rune finally defeats Marc-Andre Huesler

Holger Rune lost both matches to Marc-Andrea Huesler in his career and one of them was a final but he finally defeated the Swiss player in Montpellier 7-6(5) 6-2.

It was a very close match as once again Huesler proved very tricky for Rune to handle. The Swiss player kept this match very close in the first set despite facing some early break points. He saved them but then missed a huge chance to break Rune late in the set when he was up 40-15 on his serve.

Eventually, we ended up in a tiebreak in which Huesler began really strong 2-0. It was 3-1 after that and then 4-2 but Rune was able to reel off a couple of points to turn the score around in his favour. He then closed it out 7-5 to secure the first huge. It was a huge momentum shift in the match and gave Rune a lot of confidence going forward.

The second set was much easier for Rune as he was able to create an early break chance and convert it which resulted in him running away with the set comfortably 6-2.
