Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot is waiting on
Novak Djokovic before making any decision relating to their sponsorship of the world No 1 following events at the
Australian Open this month.
After Lacosta announced it will review its sponsorship deal with Novak Djokovic following the Australian Open fiasco many wondered if any of his sponsors will follow suit. Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot addressed the matter publicly saying that they will be sticking with Djokovic for the moment.
Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe explained that the company is waiting for Djokovic to issue an official statement on the matter after which they will define their position then.
He said:
"We are waiting to see what his position is with regard to all that he went through. The principle of vaccines is that it’s something private. We value
personal freedom. Everyone can decide. One can be in favour or against.
That’s our position. We will define our position then.”
Djokovic travelled to Montenegro following his return to Europe electing to spend some private time with his family. He is yet to publicly speak about the situation in any capacity.
