Ugo Humbert capped off his sensational week in Halle by defeating
Andrey Rublev in the final 6-3 7-6(4).
It was an amazing week for the Frenchman Humbert who won his biggest title today at the
NOVENTI OPEN in Halle. The Frenchman had two titles to his names until today when he added a third. This one is an ATP 500 event while his previous two ones were ATP 250 ones.
Humbert played sensationally all week long thriving in the indoor conditions which suit his powerful first serve. Utilizing him in the best way possible he was able to open the court and hit winners. Most of them came on his forehand which was the case today.
Rublev did not play as well today as in previous days but today was also the toughest opponent he faced all week. Both players served well initially with Rublev's struggles coming only late. Humbert broke him and took a 5-3 lead before saving two break points in the next game to seal the deal.
The 2nd set was a typical grass court set where neither player had any real chances to break. We ended up in a tiebreak where Humbert won after some great rallies.
