"I didn’t have that solid set-up and the team that I really fully trusted": Raducanu dismisses Tursunov's 'red flags' comment surrounding team

Emma Raducanu dismissed the claims of Dmitry Tursunov in which he suggested that there were 'red flags' with her team explaining that she trusts her decision.

Emma Raducanu dismissed the concerns of Dmitry Tursunov who thought that many people from her team inserted themselves way too much. Raducanu explained recently that it's just the way it is with her and she is comfortable with making the decision that she made in regard to her team.

She said:

“I think that the way I have been brought up, I have always had quite a lot of people around me. And it’s more just been me picking and choosing what I want to take and what I want to leave. I don’t really think [it’s] anything out of the ordinary. [Tursunov] can say what he thinks.”

She also admitted that she has a really good team now that she trusts and that's something that was missing in the previous years:

“I think a part of it is that I didn’t have that core, small team. I didn’t have that solid set-up and the team that I really fully trusted. So for me this year, now I feel like I have definitely got that, so I don’t probably need to consult as wide any more.”
