"It's an amazing day for me" said Felix Auger-Aliassime after winning his maiden trophy

Felix Auger-Aliassime finally cracked the winning code on Sunday as he captured his maiden ATP Tour title at the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament.

His first win came after a 78 minute battle against Stefanos Tsitsipas and it was well deserved. Auger-Aliassime played a flawless event winning his first trophy in his 9th attempt. Relief was one of the emotions that Auger-Aliassime felt after the match admitting it was not a smooth road:

“It has not been the smoothest road since my first final three years ago. It is an amazing day for me to get my first title and especially here. I played my first ATP main draw here a couple of years ago, so it is right I won my first title here.”

Auger-Aliassime paid tribute to the crowd was behind him all week long:

"I have a lot of good memories playing here in front of you, so thank you for making it a special week for me that I will remember for the rest of my life. It is the happiest day of my career and hopefully, it is the first of many to come.”
