It was a great week for Medvedev in Mallorca where he was able to string together several great matches ultimately winning the trophy. In the final, he was better than Sam Querrey 6-4 6-2 to win his first grass title. After the win he said:
“I’ve always liked playing on grass. Four years ago, I would say that it was my favourite surface. But after my results on hard courts, I couldn’t say anything else other than hard courts, and I still like playing on hard courts more."
For Medvedev winning titles is always important especially after somewhat of a drought this season. He said:
“It was important for me to get these things like titles going, because
we don’t have a lot of tournaments [on this surface]. I’m happy to get
this title, but I’m looking forward to the biggest challenge on grass,
which is Wimbledon.”
