Jack Draper stumbles in first match at Next Gen Finals

Jack Draper has lowkey been considered one of the favourites to win the event but the Brit stumbled in his first match against Stricker.

The Swiss player has a strong serve and a very capable forehand that was on full display today. It was his best match since Basel and he really looked motivated against Draper who was pretty good but lacked that one final moment of brilliance to take the match.

The loss is somewhat surprising but the really surprising thing is that Draper was unable to win a single set. The match was determined in three tiebreak sets with the same score 4-3(5) 4-3(5) 4-3(5).In the first one, Stricker was more aggressive and it paid off late.

In the second set, Stricker was once again more aggressive but also served much better which gave him free points. In the final one, Draper found his stroke and played pretty well but still was outplayed by Stricker who was amazing.

Just too good from the Swiss this time around.
