With the 2021 season coming to a close, nominees have been revealed for the ATP Awards and #NextGen star Jenson Brooksby has been nominated for the ATP Newcomer of the Year Award.
The Newcomer of the Year Award recognizes the #NextGen player who broke into the Top 100 for the first time in 2021 and made the biggest impact on the ATP Tour this season.
Born in California, USA, the 21-year old Brooksby has had a breakthrough season this year. The American compiled a 15-7 record, which saw him reach his maiden ATP final at the Hall of Fame Open this summer. Furthermore, Brooksby made it to the semifinals at Washington and Antwerp, and shocked the world by taking a set from World No.1 Novak Djokovic in the fourth round at the US Open. He would finish the year inside the Top 100, ranked at World No.56.
