Kyrgios and Kokkinakis advance to the Australian Open doubles semifinals

In a match full of sensational moments, Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis outlasted Tim Puetz and Michael Venus to reach the Australian Open semifinals.
Per tradition when Kyrgios plays, the stands in Melbourne were quite full of Aussie tennis fans who were ready to go to war for him and they almost did. In a match that featured a Kiwi on the other side of the net, who very much embraced the mantle of the villan, we saw quite a lot. It was a worthy watch that started off with both teams playing rather well.
The first set went to Kyrgios and Kokkinakis 7-5 after Nick delievered when serving for the set. He was very fired up and motivated from the start confirming after the match that he wants to win it desperately. Michael Venus played one hell of a match on the other side and his play was the reason the match went to the 3rd set.
Kyrgios got very upset wit hhim at the of the 2nd set venting his frustration both on the racquet and the umpire. Venus on the other hand was loving every moment of it. The Australians were not going to swayed of their goal and together with the crowd deliever an atmosphere not seen in tennis in the last couple of years.
Eventually they finished it off with 6-3 to secure the semifinal after a brilliant performance in the 3rd set. The duo will be very hard to stop with the crowd backing them the way they are.
