Nick Kyrgios was facing a defamation suit for what he did at Wimbledon earlier this year by suggesting a woman had 700 drinks.
During his final with Djokovic Kyrgios complained that a 'drunk' fan was distracting him in the stands talking between points. The woman in question was then thrown out of the match but allowed to return later on by following strict rules.
She explained after the match that she wasn't drunk and due to the publicity, she sued Kyrgios for defamation as well. He apologised for those remarks releasing a statement through his lawyers:
“I told the umpire that a fan, who I now know to be Anna Palus, was distracting me during the match, believing that she was drunk. I accept that belief was mistaken, and I apologise."
It also reads:
"To make amends, I have donated 20,000 pounds to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, a charity chosen by Ms Palus. I will not be commenting on this matter again.”
