A humorous
interaction between
Andy Murray and
Liam Broady resurfaced on social media
following the former world No. 1’s withdrawal from the
Olympic Games. Broady
called Murray a ‘cry baby’ while reigniting their breakfast discussion at the
CTI Open.
"First
match at 10am today so have to warm up at 8:30. Breakfast doesn’t open till
9am? Walked into player area and we’ve got… bagels. Really good for a high
standard of tennis and tennis tournament in Atlanta," Liam Broady wrote on
X.
“Hope you are okay mate. That sounds terrible. Surprised you hadn’t checked
the breakfast situation ahead of time like most professionals would have
done," Andy Murray responded.
Murray’s
sarcastic comment received a reply in which Broady mocked his former Davis Cup
teammate, mentioning that Murray doesn’t face such problems: “You have five
people just to wipe your bum for you man. You’ve never checked a situation
ahead of time in your life, we are not the same."
The 3-time
Grand Slam champion responded with a fishing rod emoji, suggesting he had
baited Broady into his joke. After Murray’s retirement at Paris 2024, Broady
didn’t forget their social media spat and posted a photo of the Scot on TV,
captioning it ‘What a cry baby,’ with a smiling emoji.
The former
world No. 1
Andy Roddick also joined in the joke. The American commented on X:
"He must have missed breakfast," recalling Broady and Murray’s
previous dispute. "Only bagels in Paris," Broady replied alongside a
laughing face emoji.
