Lorenzo Musetti makes winning start at Next Gen Finals in Italy

Lorenzo Musetti justified his status as the top ranked player in Milan by cruising in the first round against Tseng.

Musetti is the highest-ranked player in Milan with the Italian favoured by many to win the event. He's also playing on native soil so he should enjoy plenty of support. Musetti played a solid match overall taking it in straight sets 4-2 4-2 4-2.

The first set was decided by one break as Musetti did just enough on return to take it. He was a bit sharper in the crucial rallies and served better overall. The second set was even better by Musetti who did not drop a single point on his own serve while doing just enough to break once more.

The final set was very similar but Musetti was still better from the baseline hitting more winners compared to Tseng who was chasing points in many rallies. A good start by Musetti as he looked comfortable being back on the court.
