Italian tennis star Matteo Berrettini has confirmed that he has indeed split with Australian WTA player Ajla Tomljanovic.
In March, it was rumored that Berrettini and Tomljanovic had split after dating for over two years. The couple first went public with their relationship in 2019.
Now, 26-year-old Berrettini is single again and he says he is not obsessed about finding another girlfriend. While single, Berrettini has been spending more time with his team and family.
"Yeah, I'm single but it's not like something that I am looking for, like, it's not that I'm waking up and have to find love," admitted the 2021 Wimbledon runner-up.
"It's just something that is happening, it's good for me, if it doesn't, it's another day, you know. But, yeah, overall, I'm spending more time with my team, I spent a lot of time with my family when I was injured, and I enjoyed a different kind of life a little bit."
After triumphing at Stuttgart in his first grass tournament of the year, Berrettini made it all the way to the final of the Cinch Championships last weekend. The World No.11 defeated Filip Krajinovic 7-5 6-4 to lift his second consecutive title on grass this year, and hopes to continue his good form in a run to his maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon next week.
