Medvedev takes sly dig at umpire after incident involving Munar and Yibing Wu at Indian Wells: "Looks like a hindrance to me"

Daniil Medvedev commented on the controversial end to the match between Wu and Munar where umpire Aurelie Tourte made a big error.

The match lasted almost three hours with Wu ultimately winning the match. The end of the match was very controversial as Munar protested but Tourte held her ground. It was 6-3 for Wu and the Chinese player stretched to play the ball over the net however his racquet hit the net while the ball was in play and the point was still going on.

Despite that, Tourte proclaimed Wu the winner although technically she should have called hindrance. A video posted by Tennis TV caught the attention of Daniil Medvedev who commented:

"Looks like hindrance to me."

There is a good reason why Medvedev commented on that and it's because Tourte called him for hindrance in 2021. Medvedev spoke during the point to apologize to Bublik before finishing off the point with a winner but Tourte called hindrance explaining that he spoke during the point. Medvedev was baffled famously saying:

"Can you imagine? Because I had the ball to hit. You didn't have any ball to hit. Can you imagine how stupid this call is? This is gonna be on Tennis TV bro."
