Fifth-seeded Australian John Millman was upset in his opening round match at the 2020 Delray Beach Open on Monday.

After squandering match points against Roger Federer at the 2020 Australian Open, Millman was hoping to right the ship by having a decent performance in Delray Beach. The Aussie faced Japan's Yoshihito Nishioka, who put on an impressive display against Rafael Nadal at the inaugural ATP Cup.
Shockingly, it was Nishioka who prevailed, upsetting the fifth seed 3-6 6-4 6-2 in an hour and 56 minutes. The Japanese star now has a 6-3 record this season and should be feeling very confident moving forward.
2018 champion Frances Tiafoe defeated Ecuador's Emilio Gomez 7-6(3) 6-2 to secure his spot in the second round. After claiming his lone ATP title here in 2018, Tiafoe would undoubtedly love to repeat that performance.
Recent New York Open quarterfinalist Soonwoo Kwon upset seventh-seeded Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 1-6 6-3 6-2. The South Korean has been in incredible form over the last week, defeating Canadian Milos Raonic in his opening round match in New York.
Kwon will meet American wildcard Ryan Harrison, who defeated Bosnian Damir Dzumhur 6-3 6-2 in an hour and 25 minutes. This was Harrison's first ATP Tour-level match win after undergoing surgery to repair a torn extensor tendon four months ago.
American youngster Brandon Nakashima triumphed over 2020 Tata Open champion Jiri Vesely7-6(4) 6-1 to win his debut ATP match. The 18-year old faces the winner between third-seeded American Taylor Fritz and British qualifier Cameron Norrie.
Mackenzie McDonald was also in opening round action, defeating Japan's Yasutaka Uchiyama 6-2 7-6(5). The American returned from a six-month hiatus after having hamstring surgery and finally won his first Tour-level match in almost a year.
