The Spaniard admitted that Nadal had to use a lot of energy in order to survive the match against Shapovalov leaving him four kilograms lighter after the match. Moya said:

"After the match, we saw that he had lost four kilos. That was due to severe dehydration."

As Moya noted most of that weight is water weight as the players played in extremely tough conditions with the heat. There was a lot of talk about Nadal and his ability to recover from that match as he will face Berrettini a player who can play a long match as well. Nadal admitted after the Shapovalov match that he was destroyed:

“I was completely destroyed after that. For me it’s amazing, honestly, to be in the semi-finals”.

There will be a lot of motivation for Nadal who will have a chacne to secure his 2nd final ever in Australia. He won the nly previous one he played so he has fond memories of being in the final. Moya blieves that Nadal will be ready with the extra day of rest:

"This extra day of rest is a blessing. We are convinced that for the semifinals, he will be 100%."
