Nadal's 200th week as number one of the ATP Ranking

Rafael Nadal is the 6th player in the tennis history and also the oldest player to be on the top of the ATP Ranking for 200 weeks.

Roger Federer, Pete Sampras, Novak Djokovic, Ivan Lendl and Jimmy Connors spent more time as world number 1 than Rafael Nadal. However, Nadal is 4 years older than Djokovic and Lendl who achieved this at the age of 29 years.

Earlier this year, Nadal spoke about being world number 1, he said: “Sometimes when you are No. 1, for example, I know I am going to be No. 1. It’s always not that you win this point and you are No. 1. So that makes a big difference. For me, the first time that I have been No. 1 in my tennis career was 2008 for me. It was something that was really important because for four years, almost, I have been there being No. 2 and playing great tennis.”
