Nick Kyrgios has never shied away from competition but his newest idea is a boxing match between himself and another tennis player.
As we prepare to welcome Nick Kyrgios back onto the courts, the Australian has found ways to stay relevant. In a tweet he posted on his official Twitter page, the Aussie proposed a boxing match between himself and another tennis player. Kyrgios was obviously alluding to the several exhibition matches we saw in the past few years that yielded a lot of interest.
He wrote:
"Idea.... kyrgios vs which tennis player.... boxing match? Let’s go"
It didn't take long for a reply and it was American tennis player
Tennys Sandgren who replied:
"I'm down for a dance."
Fellow Aussie player Kokkinakis expressed disbelief writing 'this guy' with accompanying laughing emojis while veteran Ilya Marchenko wrote 'I accept your challenge for 20 million, easy'.
While the 'celebrity exhibitions garnered quite a bit of attraction such a champions purse is highly unlikely. What's also highly unlikely is that Kyrgios was serious in his tweet but with the Australian, you never know.
