This was one of the craziest matches this year and certainly the most dramatic one at
Wimbledon this year with
Nick Kyrgios winning 6-7(2) 6-4 6-3 7-6(7).
This was a very good match and a very dramatic one with many interesting moments. We had Kyrgios calling for a default (rightly), we had him arguing with the umpire, calling umpires dumb and blind and shouting at his box. We also had Tsitsipas hitting a fan with a ball out of frustration, hitting Kyrgios at the net, and targetting Kyrgios at the net once more.
The opening set was a close one where Kyrgios proved better but he still lost it with a late-set meltdown. The 2nd set was another close one where Kyrgios once again proved a bit better. Towards the end of the set, he finally found a way to exert some pressure on Tsitsipas taking the opening set 6-4. The 3rd one was the one where Tsitsipas lost the compass the most.
He found himself down 1-4 early and Ttsitsipas never recovered in that one. The 4th set was a very crucial one and for the most part, Kyrgios struggled in that one. He faced multiple break points in that one and also tumbled once on the court. Overall he was able to drag himself into the tiebreak where he proved only slightly better.
It was a closely contested tiebreak but he was able to get it 9-7.
